The 2019 Counter Terror Awards was an excellent evening bringing together law enforcement agencies and key partners from across the UK, all with the one intention, keeping people safe. A huge thank you from Police Scotland to all those involved in the events organisation, flawless from start to finish. To win an award on the night was the icing on the cake as simply to be nominated alongside such worthy nominees was a privilege in itself.

The current threat from terrorism, both in the UK and internationally, means it is vital police work closely with commercial organisations to improve our collective security. Events like CT Expoand the Counter Terror Awards give us chance to showcase the tools we have available to help companies increase their understanding of the issues and the measures they should be taking. HCSTPV at the University of St Andrews are delighted to have won the first ever Counter Terror Award for our Counter Terrorism Education Project by a process of nomination. From start to finish, the ceremony at Olympia, London was a showcase of personal achievements, new technologies and teaching and learning in the field of CT and the organisation of the event and calibre of guest presenters was exceptional. It's an honour to be a first recipient of what we are sure will be highly contested awards in years to come.

The first Counter Terror Awards was a success on many levels, celebrating the underappreciated victories in an often difficult and trying industry.
